A HIGHER POWER is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We celebrate our Higher Power! We provide coaching to the afflicted, addicted & alcoholic (and just as important the loved ones effected by these diseases). In addition, we offer advocacy, education, support, meetings, and public awareness initiatives aimed at reducing the stigma associated with alcoholism and addiction.
" Imagine how many people would get help if we met alcoholism/addiction with compassion and kindness instead of shame! "
A HIGHER POWER does not seek to alter anyone's belief system or personal convictions regarding their own higher power. We gather collectively to share our experiences of miracles without passing judgment on the religious or spiritual beliefs of others.
Many individuals battling alcoholism or addiction find solace in embracing a higher power during their recovery journey. Our philosophy posits that a Higher Power need not be tied to religion; instead, it can be a personal conviction in a force greater than oneself that provides guidance, support, and motivation for transformation.
Every facet of religion holds value for the believer. It is understood that the precise concept or image of a higher power is unique to each individual. That personal understanding is the only significant Higher Power for oneself.
At A Higher Power - our mission is simply:
Help the afflicted, addicted, alcoholic, & loved ones damaged by these diseases.
How do we do this?
We provide:

We Celebrate & Strengthen the relationship each individual has with their own Higher Power. The individual Higher Power who keeps one sober! We will spread the word of A Higher Power to help and be of service to the afflicted and addicted.
Through techniques, teachings and open discussions at A Higher Power, we hope to inspire each member to live a happy, purposeful, and meaningful life.
A Higher Power is not a 12-Step Program.
However, many of us have been through 12-Step programs and we do utilize and discuss our experience, strength, and hope we have found in these steps. Our members will encourage the suffering addict/alcoholic into a 12-Step program if it is needed and wanted.
A Higher Power will discuss each individual's particular addiction and help find a proper program of recovery.
We are a fellowship that celebrates our Higher Power which gives us the power to overcome weakness.
Examples of weaknesses we discuss and pray for are selfishness, anger, and addiction. We offer forgiveness, grace, and strength.
By believing in something greater than oneself, people can find hope and comfort in difficult times, and cope with the challenges and uncertainties of life.
We believe in the power of faith and strive to create a community that fosters spiritual growth.
